How can we help you?

Shipping & Returns

When will my order arrive?

Your rolls ship from our warehouse in Van Nuys, California. Most orders land on your doorstep within 2 to 7 business days.

Where do you ship?

Right now, the continental US. We're working on Alaska and Hawaii. Friends in those states, we haven't forgotten you.

What if I don't love it?

We hope you do, but life happens. If our paper isn't right for you, send it back within 30 days of delivery and we'll refund you. No questions, no hoops.

Something arrived damaged or missing?

We're sorry. That shouldn't happen, and we'll make it right. Email us at hello@safarikind.com with your order number and a photo of the damage, and we'll send a replacement out right away.

Subscriptions

How do I update my credit card?

Sign in to your account and head to "Address and Payment Details" (near the bottom on mobile, right column on desktop). Tap "Manage Payment Methods," then "Update card." That's it.

How do I sign in?

If you have an account, hit Login in the main menu and enter your email and password. We also offer a passwordless option if that's easier.

Heads up: if you don't have an active subscription yet, the system might throw you an error. That just means there's nothing to manage yet.

Forgot your password?

It happens. Make sure you're using the email address where you've been getting our notes, then click "Forgot Your Password?" on the login page. We'll send a reset link straight to your inbox.

Still stuck? Email us at hello@safarikind.com and we'll help you sort it out.

Can I change how often I get rolls?

Yes, anytime. Sign in, go to "Manage Subscriptions," and pick a new frequency (1, 2, 3, or 4 months) or a new pack size (24 or 48 rolls). Hit "Confirm Adjustment" to lock it in.

One thing to know: changing your frequency or quantity will change how often and how much you're charged. No surprises, just a heads up.

Can I change my next shipping date?

Of course. Sign in to see your subscription overview and pick what works for you:

  • Ship now
  • Push back a week
  • Push back a month
  • Pick a specific date

If you tap "Ship Now," your order goes out the next day. After that, future shipments adjust automatically based on your subscription frequency.

Our Products

Why bamboo?

Bamboo is one of the fastest-growing plants on the planet. It can grow up to 3 feet in a day, pulls a lot of carbon out of the air, and grows back on its own after harvest. No replanting needed, ready to use again in just three years.

Most toilet paper still comes from trees that take 30+ years to grow. Choosing bamboo means choosing forests that stay standing, wildlife that stay home, and a planet that gets a little more breathing room.

Where are Safari Kind rolls made?

In China, and we want to tell you why straight up.

There's a common assumption that "made in China" means cheap or careless. For us, it means the opposite. We chose our manufacturing partners after a lot of research, and we visit them regularly to make sure the standards we care about (worker treatment, environmental practices, material quality) are met every batch.

Here's what China lets us do that nowhere else could, at least not yet:

Stay plastic-free. Every roll is wrapped in paper, every box is recycled cardboard. We tried to find suppliers closer to home who could handle our custom animal-inspired wrappers without resorting to plastic film. None could match it.

Source locally. Bamboo and post-consumer recycled paper both grow and circulate in the region where our rolls are made. That means no shipping pulp across oceans just to make paper. The raw materials are right there.

Keep rolls affordable. Producing close to the source keeps our costs down, which keeps our prices reasonable. Bamboo toilet paper shouldn't be a luxury, it should be the default.

We're proud of how Safari Kind rolls are made, and we believe that being transparent about where matters more than chasing a label. If you want to dig deeper into how we vet our partners, drop us a line at hello@safarikind.com and we'll tell you anything you want to know.

Are they septic-safe?

Yes. Our rolls are designed to break down quickly and safely, in both city plumbing and septic systems. If you have a unique setup, it's always worth checking your manufacturer's guidance too.

Are they bleach-free?

Fair warning, we're about to get a little nerdy.

The short answer: yes, we don't use traditional chlorine bleach, the same stuff used to make commercial whiteners (and, once upon a time, acid-washed jeans). It's harsh, it's unnecessary for making clean, sanitary toilet paper, and it's not great for waterways.

Instead, we whiten our bamboo paper using a combination of Chlorine Dioxide (ClO₂) and Hydrogen Peroxide (H₂O₂). It's a process called Elemental Chlorine Free, or ECF for short. It gets the paper to a clean, soft white without the environmental cost of traditional bleach.

Why whiten at all?

Honest answer: because most people expect it. When toilet paper looks brown or beige, folks assume something's wrong, even though un-whitened bamboo is perfectly safe and works just as well. Our job is to make sustainable rolls people actually want to use, so for now we whiten just enough to feel familiar.

That said, fully un-whitened bamboo toilet paper is something we'd love to offer one day, and we're keeping an eye on whether our customers are ready for it. If you'd be into that, let us know. We're listening.

Are your products vegan and cruelty-free?

Yes!

Our bamboo toilet paper contains no animal-derived ingredients, no animal byproducts, and nothing that's been tested on animals at any stage of production. The materials are plant-based from start to finish: bamboo pulp, water, and the small amount of hydrogen peroxide and chlorine dioxide we use to whiten the paper.

It would feel a little strange to donate 10% of profits to wildlife conservation and then put animals through anything to make the rolls themselves. The whole point of Safari Kind is that the planet's animals are better off because we exist, not in spite of it.
